This band definitely has my vote for the band of the millennium. All the things you used to like about Metallica, Slayer and Black Sabbath, WOOD forges these influences into their own and gives their fans what they want to hear right from the heart. And talk about heart, the singer Frank Hawks, rips out his heart, a tomato prop, and under the strobes it exploded spectacularly. Unfortunately it sprayed all over me as I was taking pictures, and just to think I could have had a V-8. It was a very impressive live show to boot, with lots of energy and microphone stands flying through the air with attitude, make that lots of attitude. I talked with WOOD after the show and they revealed that their next show on New Year's Eve (see ad) would include a symbolic slaying of the beast, which sounds like a show not to be missed.
